Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney

Ace Attorney, or in Japan, Gyakuten Saiban has been catching the attention of many gamers since it's release in the year 2001 - 2004 in Japan for Game Boy Advance but soon ported in North America and Europe for Nintendo DS. The main protagonist features Phoenix Wright, a defense attorney fresh out of law school who tries his best to prove all his clients as not guilty. With the help of your assistant Maya Fey — a medium you come across a colorful cast of characters solving one case at a time.

This game takes place in the year 2016, the setting ranges differently from localization — Los Angeles for North American fans. Most cases last up to three days only and if your client is proven guilty it's pretty much a game over in this game. The courtroom setting is based on the Japanese legal system where you as the player must prove your client innocent. Even as a defense attorney, it's not just cross-examinations that you will have to do, you must also uncover the truth in means of detective work. Similar to the American show C.S.I. when your out of the courtroom, don't you think?
